The futur proche — what is about to happen
Aller ("to go") in the present tense · Ne … pas — making a sentence negative · Reflexive verbs — se lever, se sentir, se reposer
To talk about what is going to happen, use aller in the present + an infinitive. Nothing else changes.
"Je vais prendre rendez-vous." — I'm going to make an appointment. "Nous allons partir demain." — We're going to leave tomorrow. "Il va pleuvoir." — It's going to rain.

Negative wraps aller: "Je ne vais pas sortir ce soir."
With a reflexive verb the pronoun matches the subject and stays with the infinitive: "Je vais me reposer."
This is the only future you need at A1, and it covers most of what native speakers say in conversation. With the passé composé behind you and this in front, you can now place an event before or after now — which is what makes real narration possible from week 11.
