Prepositions of place

Prepositions of place tell you where something is located.

| sur | on | Le livre est sur la table. (The book is on the table.) |
| sous | under | Le sac est sous la chaise. (The bag is under the chair.) |
| devant | in front of | Il attend devant la porte. (He waits in front of the door.) |
| derrière | behind | Le jardin est derrière la maison. (The garden is behind the house.) |
| entre | between | La banque est entre le café et le parc. (The bank is between the café and the park.) |
More examples: "La chambre est à côté du salon." (The bedroom is next to the living room.) · "Il y a un parc près de l'école." (There is a park near the school.)
